23-year Old Lady Accuse Two Custom Officers of Rape

A 23-year-old lady has accused two officers of the Nigerian Custom Service (NCS), attached to Gbaji checkpoint, identified as Felola Uzezi and Mohammed Sanni, for raping her despite her pleas to the contrary.

After the incident, the victim who reported the incident to  Area K Police Command, told the police that she met one of the custom officers on social media network, Facebook precisely.

As their relationship blossomed, she said she decided to honour the invitation of Uzezi, only for him to invite his friend Sanni and they took turns with her repeatedly despite her repeated refusal.

The Area Commander was said to have dispatched some police who stormed Uzezi's house at Limca Bus Stop area, along Badagry Expressway, and picked up the duo for questioning.

The victim in her statement said, “I met Uzezi on Facebook and became friends with him. After a while, he invited me to his house. Uzezi invited Sanni over to his place when I came to visit him.

“Uzezi asked me for sex, but I told him that I was menstruating. When his friend Sanni came, they raped me despite my pleas to be left alone."

When they denied the allegations, police operatives who visited the crime scene, allegedly found blood stains on Uzezi’s bed and a boxer he gave the victim to wipe herself after the act.

Although he admitted being aware of the incident, the National Public Relations Officers of the NCS, Mr. Wale Adeniyi said the details are still sketchy.

He said, "The Seme Command Comptroller has been notified and he is working with the police for a thorough investigation. We will await a formal report from the police to enable the Comptroller-General take appropriate action.

"While we await this, we must state that the Service frowns at such heinous crime and perpetrators if found guilty, will be dealt with.”

Also, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, who confirmed the incident said investigations are ongoing, adding that the suspects would today be transferred to the State Criminal and Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, Yaba.
