In a bid to strengthen the security of
lives and property,to compliment the efforts of the police and other security
agencies in Amuwo Odofin LGA, the Executive Chairman, Comrade Ayodele Adewale
presented a Toyota Hilux Security Van that was donated by the Lagos State
Government to the Local Government Area's branch of Lagos State Neighborhood
Watch.
The Local Government boss while handing
over the van to the Senior Coordinator of the outfit, Chief Abioro Oboh stated
that,the protection of lives and properties is a serious business. The donation
of the van also demonstrated the Lagos State Government and Local Government's
readiness and commitment to strengthen security in the community.
Comrade Ayodele Adewale also said the
development validates the imperativeness of community policing because the
Neighbourhood Watchers are closer to the people. While encouraging them on the
need to maintain and maximize the opportunity of the van, he stated that
"the way you are dressed, that is the way you will be addressed,” advising
them to be professional in their duty and conduct.
While receiving the security van, Chief
Abioro Oboh thanked the administration of Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola and
the Local Government boss for their kind gesture and supports. He noted that
the patrol van would assist them alot in their efforts to reducing crime in the
community. He pledged that the van would be used for the purpose it is meant
for.
