Babangida Aliyu

The breakaway faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Wednesday claimed that its membership has swelled with the decamping of five more governors of the ruling party to the group.

Although the splinter PDP did not name the five governors that had joined it, if the claim is correct, it would bring the number of governors in its fold to 12.
The New PDP said the new governors would join them at their meeting on the next adjourned date slated to hold after the Eid-el-Kabir holiday.

Currently, the New PDP boasts seven governors. They are Governors Rabiu Musa Kwanakwanso (Kano), Ahmed Abdulfatah Ahmed (Kwara), Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu (Niger), Murtala Nyako (Adamawa), Sule Lamido (Jigawa), Aliyu Wamakko (Sokoto) and Chibuike Amaechi (Rivers)

Associated Airline Crash: Tunji Okusanya and Son died in the crah tooo

I'm truly traumatized by the crash of associated airline plane conveying 20 people to Akure from Lagos for Late Olusegun Agagu's burial. It was with shock that i received the news that M.I.C (Magbamowo Industrial Company) boss, Tunji Okunsanya was also part of the people who died this morning in the Lagos plane crash. Mr Tunji died alongside his son, also known as Tunji Okunsanya. I had interviewed Tunji senior recently on his job and the joys of translating people in style to the afterlife. Sadly, he and the son would be put in the coffin they made for others. This Life is indeed Fleeting. He was a jolly good fellow.

THE VERDICT By OLUSEGUN ADENIYI

Last Sunday, President Goodluck Jonathan had his third media chat and for two hours, he fielded questions on sundry national issues. He started by speaking of the pain he felt, the night before, upon being informed of the brutal killings of innocent school children in Yobe State. He spoke candidly about the on-going ASUU strike, while raising critical questions about those who demand university autonomy without accountability. At the end of this interesting engagement, I was impressed by what I consider his best media performance to date. But two days later on October 1, in his independence broadcast, the president chose to travel a familiar road by establishing another of his numerous committees, this time to demonstrate his “avowed belief in the positive power of dialogue in charting the way forward”.
