It’s no longer news that pandemonium erupted in Lagos today over the aircraft being towed along the Igando area of Lagos State but I bet you haven’t heard that the said aircraft was bought by one Captain MJ Ekeinde.

Well I put to and two together and came up with Four. How may Captains do we have that bear the name MJ Ekeinde. My mind immediately went to our own screen goddess: Omotola Jalede Ekeinde whose husband is a pilot and bears the name Mattew Ekeinde.

EXCLUSIVE: Police Burst Syndicate who Specialise in Ambushing International Travelers

The Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) of the Lagos State Police Command, has arrested a five-man syndicate who specialise in ambushing international travelers and disposing them of their belongings. It was gathered that the syndicate usually perch around the    Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Ikeja and monitor international travelers  shortly after they leave the arrival lounge for their respective destinations.

Midday Fire Roasts Grandfather, Granddaughter to Death


A midday inferno at the Agbado area of Ogun State, Monday,  roasted an 82-year-old grandfather Samuel Adeola and his 12-year-old granddaughter, Mariam Adeola, to death, leaving several others with varying degrees of injuries.

The fire which happened at No. 18, Bailey Street, Agbado, started at about 2pm as a small fire but soon snowballed into an inferno after the cooking stove exploded.

Also speaking, the Managing Director, National Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Mazi Nnamdi Udoh, described the purported plane crash as a hoax that should be disregarded.

In a statement made available to me, the agency said, "The attention of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) has been drawn to a purported plane crash yesterday at Igando, a suburb in Lagos State.

Former Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Ayo Fayose, escaped death by whiskers on Tuesday night in Ado- Ekiti, as some people suspected to be hired political thugs, who had been on his trail shot his car.
According to a statement by the Ayo Fayose Campaign Organisation (AFCO) and signed by the campaign’s Director-General, Mr. Owoseni Ajayi, said Fayose, who was coming from Ado-Ekiti and heading towards  Afao- Ekiti, his country home at about 9 p.m., was trailed by a white colour Hilux car with green number plate to Fayose Housing Estate at Afao-Ekiti road.

Pandemonium as Towed Plane Incites Fear of Crash in Lagos

Barely 10 days after the one year commemoration of the death of 153 passengers on board the ill-fated Dana Aircraft 992, which crashed at the Iju-Ishaga area o Lagos, pandemonium erupted yesterday as rumors of another crash made the rounds. 

checks revealed that the rumors of the plane crash began when charred scraps and parts of an aircraft being towed by a truck stopped in front of Dapsey fillin station,  along the LASU-Igando road.

NAMA Diverts Wamakko’s Flight

A mild drama occurred Wednesday at the Sultan Abubakar International Airport, Sokoto, when supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who had besieged the airport, prevented the chartered flight conveying the state Governor, Alhaji Aliyu Wamakko and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal, from landing at the airport.
The plane was also carrying all the representatives of the state in the Senate and House of Representatives. The crowd had thronged the tarmac of the airport in order to catch a glimpse of the governor, who was suspended by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP for alleged insubordination.

The University of Uyo (UNIUYO) in Akwa Ibom State has been shut down indefinitely, following the death of two students during an encounter with the Police. checks revealed that the students had embarked on peaceful protest on the campus Wednesday, over the introduction of a new transport fare regime for the engineering and science students from the town campus to permanent site.
