Housewife in trouble over alleged lesbianism

A 31-year-old housewife, (name withheld)  is now being trailed by the police for prosecution over an alleged involvement in lesbianism. The lady who was reported at Afonka Police Division late last year was said to have been engaging in act of lesbianism alongside other women in her neighbourhood at Shasha area of Lagos in the last two years.
Police sources said luck ran against her and one of her lesbian partners (name withheld)  when the latter's husband caught them in the act red-handed and reported the matter to the police. Both ladies were only known as friends until they were caught.
Police sources said efforts are on to arrest the mai suspect who is presently at large. It would be recalled that same sex marriage is not allowed in Nigeria and could cause social stigma for anyone who practiced it. Police sources say both ladies risk prosecution and imprisonment if arrested.

Jonathan, Morsi Renew Ties

President Goodluck Jonathan has pledged to renew the strong ties that existed between the country and one of its African ally; Egypt. He made this pledge to Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi, yesterday when he attended the opening of the 12th session of the summit of Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Cairo.
Jonathan and Morsi had pledged to renew the ties between both countries during the bilateral talks held to chart the way forward within the African continent as well as internationally. The thrust of the visit as reiterated by Jonathan was to seek ways to increase the growth of the economy through social interactions in the light of the current challenges.

Unknown Gunmen Shoot, Kill Lagos White Cap Chief

Tragedy struck yesterday at Iga Idugaran Street, Isale-Eko area of Lagos Island, when unknown gunmen shot and killed a white cap chief, the Onimole of Lagos, Chief Kayode Adeshina.
 
The 73-year-old chief was said to have been shot dead at about 3am in his palace at no 5, Onimole Palace, Iga Idugaran Street.
 
According to reports from his children and relatives who were with the deceased when the gunmen came calling, they could literally render no help as the gunmen took them by surprise.

AFCON; Dangote Rewards the Super Eagles with N130 Million for Reaching Finals



Nigerian billionaire and business mogul, Aliko Dangotehas rewarded the Super Eagles of Nigeria with the sum of  N130 million for reaching the finals of the ongoingAfrica Cup of Nations (AFCON) in South Africa.
The President/Chief Executive of Dangote Group made the offer after the Super Eagles reached the finals of AFCON 2013 by defeating the Malian national team 4-1 at the semi-finals.
A statement from Dangote Group made available to The Nation explained that the gesture is part of Dangote Group’s corporate social responsibility to promote and encourage sports development in Nigeria. The donation is to acknowledge the exploits of the national team at the AFCON and stimulate them to bring home the coveted trophy.
Sports minister Bolaji Abudllahi speaking on the donation said: “Dangote has always demonstrated commitment to Government and people of Nigeria. We are happy over the gesture shown to the players and the coaching crew. It is an example for other well-meaning Nigerians to follow.

N10M Secures Bail for Farouk Lawan and Boniface Enemalo


One week after the duo of Farouk Lawan and Boniface Enemalo were arraigned in Court for allegedly obtaining bribe during investigations on the fuel subsidy fraud, they have been granted bail at N10 million each.
Channels TV reports that the presiding judge, Justice Mudashiru Oniyangi of the Federal Capital Territory high court, Abuja granted them bail this morning. He also asked the lawmakers to deposit their travel documents with the court registrar.
Lawan and Enemalo were arraigned by the police on a seven-count charge of corruptly soliciting bribe of $3 million (N450 million) from an independent oil marketer, Femi Otedola. The bribe was allegedly to ensure that Otedola’s company, Zenon Oil and Gas was removed from the list of indicted oil marketers in the infamous fuel subsidy scam.
The trial has been set for the 10th and 17th of April 2013.

I had been immunized against the bug and this is received through all the amazing lessons life hands you on a platter. I had a boyfriend when it was a taboo to have one. I was 17. Our first meeting was as ordinary as it gets. I went on a stroll which was not uncommon those days on our estate, and there came this young man driving his father’s car.
