President Barack Obama today read a second inaugural address that broadly lays out his vision for the country's future, setting the stage for looming debates over taxes, guns, immigration and other issues while leaving the details for another day.
The speech, slated right after Obama took an oath to "faithfully execute the office of the President of the United States" Monday on the Capitol's west front, includes no new policy, aides say. Rather, the president plans to use the moment as it traditionally has been in most of the 56 previous inaugurations — to talk about founding American values and their importance to the country's success today.

Gunmen seized a Nigerian-owned, Panama-flagged tanker with 16 Nigerian crew off Cote d’Ivoire's port of Abidjan as it prepared to unload 5,000 tonnes of fuel, port officials said on Monday.Attacks on shipping are increasing in the Gulf of Guinea - second only to the waters around Somalia for piracy. But the ITRI incident was only the second of its kind in Ivorian waters, reports Reuters.The tanker, named the ITRI and owned by Lagos-based Brila Energy, was commandeered on Thursday, Abidjan's port authority said in a statement.

Obi Offers N5m Reward for Clue on Bodies Found in Anambra River

Governor Peter Obi of Anambra State yesterday offered to pay N5 million as reward to anyone with useful information leading to the source of the unidentified corpses discovered floating on the Ezu River on Saturday.
News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported that Obi visited the Ezu River in Amansea, a border town with Enugu State, the scene where the corpses were still floating yesterday.

Passengers at Heathrow Airport face further delays on Sunday with about 20% of flights due to be cancelled as more snow is expected.
More than 100 flights were cancelled on Saturday after hundreds of passengers spent the night in the airport on Friday night, reports the BBC.

Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) leader, Henry Okah was Monday morning found guilty of terrorism charges by a Johannesburg Magistrate's Court.
The Nigerian failed to convince the court that he was not the leader of the group (MEND).
"The most damning evidence is that in her hand writing, his wife refers to him as the leader of Mend," Magistrate
He faced terrorism-related charges for his alleged involvement in the Independence Day bombings in Abuja on October 1.
