EXCLUSIVE: Police Arrest Six for Armed Robbery, Cultism


The Ketu and Epe Police Divisions as well as the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Lagos State Police Command weekend, arrested six persons for armed robbery and cultism in different parts of the state. The police also recovered weapons and ammunition from the suspects.

The suspects were identified as Seye Ogulana, Samson Olusesi popularly known as Tallest, Adedoyin Badmos also popularly known as NFA, Segun Iseyemi, Tunde Adewunmi and Kenneth Oda.



While Ogulana, Iseyemi, Adewunmi and Oda were picked up by police operatives from Ketu and Epe Police Divisions respectively for armed robbery, Badmos and Olusesi were arrested for cultism by the RRS.

Confirming the arrests, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, said Ogulana was arrested at about 3pm by a police patrol team attached to Ketu Division.

She said the patrol team acted on a tip-off about an armed robbery operation scheduled to take place at Agility Road, and stormed the area and arrested Ogunlana at the Teina Hotel, but other members of the gang escaped.

She also disclosed that at about 8pm, policemen attached to Epe Division again acted on a tip-off and arrested Olusesi and Badmos with one locally made double barrel pistol at Ayetoro Area of Epe.

Also, three suspected armed robbers were arrested by RRS operatives who were on patrol along Baale Street, Apapa.

The suspects had earlier barricaded the road and robbed one Ibrahim Dalibi and his wife of their personal belongings. They were also said to have used matchets on Ibrahim’s wife and inflicted deep cuts on her back.

Braide said the suspects are currently under investigation at the State Criminal and Investigation Department (SCID),Panti, Yaba, and would be prosecuted within the ambits of the law.
